1. The information we collect

Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:

• Contact details — name, phone, email, postal/installation address.
• Property and energy information — roof and meter details, electricity retailer and plan, meter number/NMI, and your electricity bills and usage history.
• Assessment information — site photos (meterboard, switchboard, roof, equipment locations), appliance and household details you provide in our Household Load & Usage Declaration.
• Eligibility information — details needed to apply for rebates, certificates or incentives on your behalf.
• Payment information — billing details and payment records (we do not store full card numbers).
• Website information — basic analytics and, if used, cookies (see section 7).

We collect only what we reasonably need to provide our products and services.

2. How we collect it

We collect information directly from you — through our website forms, phone calls, emails, quotes, and on-site assessments. With your authority, we may also collect information from third parties, such as your electricity retailer or distributor (for example, to verify usage or a guarantee claim), and from rebate/scheme administrators.

3. Why we use it

We use your information to: respond to enquiries and prepare quotes; design, supply, install and service your system; apply for rebates, certificates and incentives on your behalf; verify and assess any guarantee claim; process payments and manage accounts; meet our legal, warranty and safety obligations; and, where you have not opted out, send you relevant updates and offers.

4. When we disclose it

We may disclose your information to:

• Our staff and authorised subcontractors/installers.
• Accredited certificate or rebate agents and scheme administrators.
• Your network distributor (DNSP), retailer or a Virtual Power Plant provider (where relevant to your system or rebate).
• Payment processors.
• Professional advisers or regulators where required or permitted by law.

We require those we share with to protect your information. We do not sell your personal information.

If we use cloud or IT providers that store data outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.

5. Direct marketing and opt-out

We may send you marketing about our products and services where the law allows. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our messages or contacting us at info@hmsolarelectrical.com.au, and we will stop.

6. Security, storage and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, including access controls and secure storage. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law (for example, warranty, tax and building records), then take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

7. Cookies and website analytics
